Cardio Isn’t God, But It Is Good
Many women think that simply running every day is the best way to stay fit.
While running is a great way to lose pounds and ensure that your heart stays healthy, it’s not the only way!
Here are some examples of activities other than running that will keep your heart rate up and your body weight down.
Cardio isn’t everything, however, and should only be a part of your fitness routine.
2-3 cardio sessions per week is plenty, and make sure you work on toning up your entire body!
Keeping cardio fun is the key, so it’s about finding a machine or an activity that makes you look forward to it.
Tabata workouts are one of my favorite ways to get a really intense workout packed into a really tight schedule.
These workouts are essentially working for 20 seconds, and then resting for 10 seconds.
You then repeat this cycle 8 times per move, doing as many reps as you can in the 20 seconds of work.
Of course, there are timers that take all of the work out of this! My favorite (free!) tabata timer is available here.
Just adjust the number of “tabatas” at the bottom of the timer to the number of moves you will perform and start working!
The best part is, you don’t need a gym. You can do a tabata workout anywhere you want!
Whether that be while the kids are napping, while you’re catching up on your favorite show, or even while you play outside with your pet.
Here are a couple of simple and effective tabata workout that will get you toned up and feeling confident in no time!

Lift More Weights
Weight-lifting scared a lot of my friends off.
They were all about toning up but didn’t want to beef up. There is nothing to be afraid of!
Weight training is great for your body, builds muscle and is an amazing way to tone up.
You won’t bulk up from weight training, but instead, you will slim down.
Weights are about form, though, so be sure to keep your form as perfect as you can!
Form is more important than reps, so always strive to do the move correctly rather than quickly. These moves are combination moves that get the most out of your time and effort at the gym!
These, too can be done in Tabata intervals, or simply for reps.
I would start at three sets of ten reps and go up when you’re comfortable. Always listen to your body!
